Description

These are some of the first radar displays. According to a friend of mine they are A-Scan radar displays that simply showed a line with a spike onit, the hieght of the spike determined the distance and the location of the spike on the line determinted its location. There are about 15 of these units in the basement of the old house. Its a 3.5 story house with a basement. The celings are 12 ft.

They look like WW2-era osciloscopes.  They show a curved line - literally a wavelength.  Your friend is basically right.  What a shame they've been left to rust like that - there aren't many left of that vintage in good condition.
